Richard D. Johnson
Chief Warrant Officer Four Rick Johnson was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1965 and grew up in Fort Hood, Texas.
His father was a career military NCO, and retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of First Sergeant. Chief Johnson
enlisted in the US Army in 1987 and completed Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Individual
Training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. His initial assignment, after graduation from the Legal Specialist School
at Fort Benjamin Harrison, was as a Legal Specialist with the Operations Group, National Training Center and Fort
Irwin and also served as an Armor NCO with the Opposing Forces (OPFOR).
His other enlisted assignments include: NCOIC, Criminal Law Division, III Corps, Fort Hood, Texas; Brigade Legal
NCO, Apache Training Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas; Legal NCO and Bradley Commander, 1st Infantry Division,
DIVARTY, Desert Shield/Storm; Brigade Legal NCO, 6th Cavalry Brigade (Air Combat), Fort Hood, Texas and
NCOIC, Administration, United States Army Litigation Center, Ballston, Virginia. Chief Johnson attained the rank of
Staff Sergeant prior to his appointment as a warrant officer.
Chief Johnson was selected to become a Legal Administrator in the Judge Advocate General's Corps in 1993. As a
Legal Administrator, he has served in a variety of assignments including: Legal Administrator, United States Army
Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca, Fort Huachuca, Arizona; Legal Technology Management Officer, Office of the
Judge Advocate General, Washington DC; Chief, LAAWS XXI Project Office, Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Chief, Warrant
Officer Training and Senior Legal Administrator, The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School,
Charlottesville, Virginia; Legal Administrator, III Corps and Fort Hood, and Legal Administrator for Multi-National
Corps-Iraq, Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq.
Chief Johnson is a graduate of the Warrant Officer Basic Course, Legal Administrator Course, and Warrant Officer
Advanced Course. He holds several certifications including A+ Certification, Certified Novell Engineer, Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer, and Microsoft Certified Trainer.
Chief Johnson's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army
Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest
Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal,
NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, and Kuwait
Liberation Medals (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait).
Chief Johnson is married and they have two daughters.
CW4 Rick Johnson is new CWOB for JAG Corps having replaced CW4 Carol Hauck that is now serving in Iraq. -
